Russia’s largest undeveloped copper mine begins construction

On September 4th, a company owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov Holdings said it had begun construction of a large mining and metallurgical plant at the Udokan copper mine in a remote area in eastern Siberia. With a total copper reserves of approximately 26.7 million tons, it is the largest undeveloped copper deposit in Russia and one of the largest copper deposits in the world.
